"Turbulence ahead (you morons!!!)"

without comments

Story,

I actually meant to type this a few weeks back upon my return to Ireland, but here it is in all its edited and somewhat partially memorised glory. Are you ready? Well, OK. I hate planes! I mean, I really hate planes… and airports – airports are truly shit too followed closely by rain and my inability to drive.
Admittedly what is now my fifth venture into aeronautical heights (or depths depending on whether you hit the sea nose first or not) was a little easier, my shaky feelings of nausea deshake-afied – that was, until, the captain announced that there would be turbulence along the way (naturally). To this day I believe completely in the Gary Larson Far Side strip turbulence is something invented by bored pilots who been on the job for far too long! And thus, the plane shook and whatnot and I got more and more nauseous and as such was so so delighted when the coffee and orange juice came along to calm my nerves.

This, however, led to another problem as shortly afterwards I needed to piss – badly, but I thought “we’ll be landing soon, so no problem!!” About two minutes after this realisation, the pilot announced that due to delays at Heathrow we’ll be in the air for a further half-hour…
Ahhhhhhhh shit!! On Monday evening (just after 7.30pm), I partook in another first in my ever so short life – I had my first ever mid-air piss. It was during this little adventure I discovered one little fact – man was never, ever meant to piss a few thousand feet up. It stands as one of the most horrible experiences ever….
We hung around in the air, I continued feeling rather ill (ish), but eventually landed. Onto the Heathrow Express (rip-off), but I needed to get home and straight to bed so that I could wake up most of a day later…

On a somewhat calmer note, my copy of “Doctor Who and the Dalek’s Master Plan” arrived on Monday (just before I left) which was classy. All thirteen episodes (including the teaser “Mission to the Unknown”) are sitting in front of me in their brilliant audio-tasticness (forget the dictionary) glory!!!

Anyhoo, aside from all that schtick, the “Seventeen” EP launch on Saturday was classy fun and not quite the disaster that I thought it might be. Fun was had (most of it by me, I think). I think Shane Murphy and Naomi McArdle got a few pictures off, so I’ll post them if I see them, but as well as that I did a bit of an IM interview with Nay last night, so if it appears anywhere I’ll post it.
